Dr. Mehta is committed to helping you maximize your vision to its full potential using lifestyle changes, supplements and the latest technologies. Her optometry interests include ocular disease, ocular nutrition, and how general disease and inflammation impacts the eye and vision. She wrote in 2016 an article "Anatomy, Medicine, and Disease in Ancient India," published by Hakkert, Amsterdam in Anatomy and Surgery: From Antiquity to the Renaissance. She lives with her family including 2 very dog-like cats in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Her hobbies include gluten-free cooking, hiking, travel, and yoga.
Clinical Experience:
With over 13 years of clinical experience seeing ages 4 and above, she has worked for Pearle Vision franchise doctors and Lenscrafters sublease doctors in both the Boston and Philadelphia areas. Also, she had previously interned 6 months at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute ( #1 ranked in ophthalmology for 21+ years).
Education
Dr. Shilpi Mehta is a full scope Pennsylvania glaucoma and therapeutics MiSight and IPL certified optometrist and graduate of New England College of Optometry in Boston. She is a Doctor of Optometry quadruple trained with ADAPT Kresser Institute, Primal Health Coach; Certified Functional Medicine University CFMP, and Certified Institute of Functional Medicine Practitioner (IFMCP associated w/ Dr. Mark Hyman, MD and Cleveland Clinic).
Prior to this, she received a MA in Classical Art and Archaeology from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor and BA in Classics and Ancient History at the University of Texas at Austin.
